It is January 17, 2026. While the rest of the e-commerce world is shouting about electronics and expensive gadgets, Meesho is doing what it does best: democratizing fashion and home decor for the masses. The Meesho Maha Republic Day Sale 2026 is officially live, and if you know how to navigate the app, it is an absolute goldmine.
We are seeing Kurtis for the price of a chocolate bar, home utility items for less than ₹50, and a revamped "First Order Discount" system that is confusing many new users. You have questions like: "Is the discount automatic?", "What is the minimum order value?", and "How do I catch the ₹1 loot?".
This isn't just a news update. This is your Strategic Guide to saving money on Meesho this January. We have researched the new 2026 policies, tested the coupon codes, and curated the best categories for you.

🎁 The New User Guide: First Order Discount 2026
If you have never ordered from Meesho before (or if you have a spare phone number to create a new account), this section is critical. In 2026, Meesho updated its new user policy.
1. Is the First Order Discount Automatic?
Yes, and No. In 2026, Meesho has simplified the process. You do not strictly need to type a code like `USER100` anymore. The discount is automatically applied at the checkout page, BUT you must select the correct payment mode to activate it fully.
However, you will often see a coupon section. If the auto-discount doesn't trigger, manually entering codes like NEW2026 or FIRST25 often forces the system to recalculate the best price.
2. What is the Minimum Order Value?
This is the most searched query. Technically, Meesho has NO minimum order value for delivery. You can buy a ₹49 earring set, and they will ship it.
However, to avail of the 25% First Order Discount, there are tiers:
- Orders below ₹200: Usually get a flat ₹30-₹50 off.
- Orders above ₹400: Get the full flat ₹100 or 25% off (whichever is lower).
💸 The ₹1 & ₹9 "Rocket Deals": Myth or Reality?
You have seen the ads: "Sarees for ₹9." Is it real? Yes, but it is a lottery. During the Republic Day Sale 2026, these deals go live at 8:00 PM every night.
How to actually secure a ₹9 deal:
- Pre-Save Address: Ensure your address is saved. You won't have time to type "Sector 42" when the sale drops.
- Use UPI: Cash on Delivery (COD) often adds an extra step or OTP verification which slows you down. UPI is one click.
- Don't be greedy: Don't aim for the heavy saree. Aim for the kitchen tool or the t-shirt. Less competition means higher success rate.
🏆 Best Categories to Shop in January 2026
Meesho is not Amazon; you don't buy Electronics here (stick to accessories). You come here for "Non-Branded" fashion. Here is what is trending:
1. The "Winter Clearance" Loot
Since it is late January, sellers are desperate to clear winter stock. You can find:
- Men's Hoodies: High quality fleece hoodies starting at ₹249.
- Woolen Kurtis: Starting at ₹299.
2. Wedding Season Preparation
With the wedding season peaking in Feb 2026, the ethnic wear section is booming.
| Item Type | Average Price (Sale) | Quality Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Georgette Saree | ₹350 - ₹499 | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Best Value) |
| Lehenga (Semi-stitched) | ₹899 - ₹1,200 | ⭐⭐⭐ (Good for one-time wear) |
| Jewellery Sets (Kundan) | ₹149 - ₹299 | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Looks expensive) |
| Men's Kurta Pyjama | ₹399 - ₹550 | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Decent fabric) |
🔍 Hidden Gems: Home & Kitchen
This is the most underrated section. The "Smart Home" organization items you see on Instagram Reels? They are all sourced from here.
Top Picks for Republic Day:
- Airtight Containers (Set of 6): Deal Price ₹189.
- Rotating Spice Rack: Deal Price ₹210.
- Wall Stickers (3D Foam): Perfect for a quick room makeover before guests arrive. ₹120 per sheet.
🛡️ Safety Guide: Avoid "Fake" Products
Meesho is an open marketplace, meaning anyone can sell. To ensure you get what you ordered, follow the "3-Check Rule":
- Check the "Real Photos": Scroll down to reviews. If there are no user-uploaded photos, DO NOT BUY.
- Check the "M-Trusted" Badge: Sellers with this badge have lower return rates.
- Video Unboxing: Always, always record a video when opening a Meesho packet. If the product is missing or damaged, this video is the only proof they accept for a refund.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions (2026 Update)
Q1: What is the Meesho First Order 25% Off Coupon Code 2026?
A: The generic codes working in Jan 2026 are OMG25, NEWUSER, and SAVE100. However, the app usually applies the best one automatically.
Q2: Is delivery really free on everything?
A: Mostly yes. 90% of products have "Free Delivery." Some low-value items (under ₹100) might have a small shipping fee of ₹20 unless you bundle them.
Q3: Can I return items bought in the ₹9 sale?
A: Usually, No. The promotional "Loot" items (₹9, ₹49, ₹99) are often marked as "Non-Returnable" unless you receive a damaged product.
🏁 Final Verdict: Should You Shop?
The Meesho Republic Day Sale 2026 is not for buying branded sneakers or flagship phones. It is for filling your wardrobe with trendy daily wear and organizing your kitchen on a tight budget.
